The bead
Absorption of enzymes on beads yields one of the most simple and cost effective formulations available.
|
The properties
The beads have a polymeric matrix of acrylic esters or polypropylene groups that interact with hydrophobic domains on a protein surface. Large pores allow for low diffusion limitation. |
The application
On these inert carriers lipases absorb particularly well. The resulting product is ideal for a wide variety of non-aqueous modifications such as esterifications and transesterifications.
