Alcalase applications

A very valuable application is the preparation and modification of chiral chemicals, peptides and proteins. Using immobilized Alcalase the range of conditions can be broadened towards organic media allowing for reversed hydrolysis, alcoholysis and transesterification.

 

Alternatives for Alcalase

In cooperation with Genencor International ChiralVision distributes screening kits containing 11 bulk proteases. This most complete set of proteases is ideal for enzymatic process development. In many cases Protex 6L turns out to have very similar properties to Alcalase.  All proteases can be obtained separately in research quantities as well as in ton-scale bulk and of course also as immobilised formulation. click here for the Genencor protease kit
