August 1, 2011 Microbial PLE (non-animal pig liver esterase)
Pig liver esterase (PLE, EC 3.1.1.1) has been employed extensively, especially in kinetic resolutions, in desymmetrizations of prochiral substrates, and in the synthesis of nucleosides. Its practical use has been hampered by the existence of several isoenzymes with different (enantio)selectivities. Being an animal derived enzyme, its use in several fields, such as pharmaceuticals, is excluded. ChiralVision offers 6 microbial PLEs produced in E. coli based on the original (iso)enzymes that has none of the limitations mentioned above. The production is based on patent free methods giving complete freedom to operate.
January 3, 2011 Transesterification kit for water free enzymatic reactions
Today a special screening kit with immobilized bulk lipases was introduced for enzymatic reactions under water free conditions. It contains lipases on a new type of carrier that is designed for performing enzymatic transesterifications, acylations and direct esterifications in organic media. The immobilization technology allows for the use of a wider range of conditions leading to more positive screening results than would be obtained using conventional carrier types.
April 19, 2010 New enzymes for asymmetric synthesis
New special enzymes for asymmetric synthesis are added to the product portfolio. Among them is 2-Deoxy-D-ribose 5-phosphate aldolase (DERA). This enzyme can catalyze enantioselectively carbon-carbon bond formations, generating up to two chiral centers under mild reaction conditions. They are emerging as powerful and cost efficient tools for the industrial synthesis of statin side chains.
January 3, 2010 Immobead enzyme carrier Kit
For protein / enzyme immobilization a screening kit has been developed using ChiralVisions' extensive knowledge in the field of enzyme carriers. The selected carriers can retain proteins via covalent, absorbed or ionic binding. Immobilization of enzymes offers easy separation and reuse, thereby making production processes more cost effective by reducing waste and energy consumption. Additionally process conditions can be chosen with increased flexibility. In a hydrolytic two-phase reaction emulsion formation is prevented and in a water-free reaction immobilization normally increases enzyme activity 1 or 2 orders compared to using pure enzyme powders. Proteins can be purified by making use of the various binding methods. Full technical support is supplied, especially value to those first time users.

December 10, 2009 Silica bound proteases
Immobilizing proteases has been a challenge for many years. After the introduction of a first range of polyacrylic bound proteases (immobilized Alcalase, immobilized Savinase etc.) now silica bound Protex 6, Alcalase and other commonly used proteases have been successfully developed. Proteases have rarely been used under non-aqueous conditions due to the lack of available immobilization techniques. Like lipases the group of proteases does display activity in organic solvents, if properly bound to a carrier. Because the interaction between substrate and carrier plays a big role under non-aqueous conditions together with the polyacrylic carrier silica carriers are bringing succesfull process development one step closer. Silica bound proteases have comparable activities with respect to polyacrylic formulations.
Currently various proteases are immobilized on silica, contact us for available products. Click here for polyacrylic immobilized Alcalase, Savinase etc.

January 30, 2009 Largest immobilized bulk hydrolase kit on the market
Today the largest screening kit with immobilized bulk hydrolases was put on the market by ChiralVision. The kit is intented to stimulate process development for chiral API and chiral intermediate production by making the best lipases, proteases and phospholipases from 7 large enzyme manufacturers available in one convenient package. By the immobilization technology the enzymes are free of disturbing additives that may hamper quick analysis of the reaction mixtures. Also the immobilized formulation can be used under a much wider range of conditions leading to more positive screening results than would be obtained using only non-immobilized enzymes.
The kit contains 47 immobilized enzymes in total: 24 lipases, 20 proteases and 3 phospholipases. The enzymes are produced by Novozymes, Genencor, Sigma-Aldrich, Amano, Fluka, Meito, c-LEcta and Aum Enzymes. All enzymes are immobilized by ChiralVision using the latest immobilization and carrier technologies.
December 15, 2008 - Generic CaLA and pure isoenzyme CRL
CaLA and pure isoenzyme CRL are now available produced recombinantly in yeast and formulated as dry powder and in covalent immobilized form. The enzymes are developed and produced by c-LEcta, Immozyme formulations are produced by ChiralVision. For many years Candida rugosa Lipase or "CRL" was produced as a mixure of various isoenzymes with often good activity. The pure isoenzyme (CRL-1) will facilitate obtaining chiral compounds with higher enantioselectivity.

January 7, 2008 - Optically pure β-amino acids
ChiralVision is specialized in enzymatic resolution. By using up to 100 different hydrolytic (bulk) enzymes in combination with clever substrate derivatisation a very high success rate is achieved. No expensive designer enzyme is needed to get an enantiomeric excess of over 99%. In many cases racemisation of the unwanted isomer is possible. Subsequent recycling leads to a process with high yields.
Field of application
Almost any chiral compound is accessible via enzymatic resolution. It is particularly applicable for chiral alcohols and diols , amines, amides, a-amino acids (also with multiple chiral centers), b-amino acids, amino alcohols, acids, esters.
By applying the described technique 8 new β-amino acids and 24 derivatives are now added to ChiralVisions' catalog, all in >99% enantiomeric excess.

September 4, 2006 - ChiralVision introduces enzymatic resolution service
ChiralVision now offers its extended experience in process development and scale-up of enzymatically prepared (chiral) compounds. Selection of the right enzyme and identification of the most critical areas produces robust, scalable and economical processes. Speed is one of the key requirements for safeguarding competitive advantages – both in developing new processes and in market launches. Screening for the best enzyme for a specific conversion and selection of conditions is performed within the time frame of 2-3 weeks; optimization and initial scale-up of an enzyme-catalyzed reaction is performed in 2 weeks.
Development of new and proprietary routes to existing compounds, or scaling of an existing synthesis to robust process, can all be achieved with smart use of biocatalysis. By using only cheap hydrolytic bulk enzymes (> 75), enzyme costs per kilogram of end product can be kept to an absolute minimum. Furthermore, because the enzymes are freely available on the market a steady supply and the lowest possible price is guaranteed. The target for enantiomeric excess is >99%.
