Immozymes

In 1916 Nelson and Griffin immobilized invertase on charcoal. This discovery was the first of various enzyme immobilization techniques currently available.

For each immobilized enzyme optimization of activity and stability is performed. After immobilization, washing and drying an enzyme is obtained that can be used in water-free media and stored for prolonged times.
